NaNoWriMo
Beginning NaNo...
Tomorrow I am starting NaNoWriMo and I am supper excited, because I've never spent very much time writing. And usually when I do, its a report and I don't get to choose what I do. I've always wanted to be an author but figured I could never do it so now I'm forced to try and I'll be able to know if I like it now. But I'm also very nervous because I have to make my word count goal of 40,000 words in 30 days. Wish me luck!!!!!
I'm 5 days in!
Now we are Five days into NaNoWriMo and I am very proud of myself because I should only be 8% into my novel right now and I'm 16% in. That takes a lot of the pressure off me because now if I'm busy one day I can not write and I won't feel pressured. Hopefully this good start will continue!
I am now done!!!!!!!!!
If you would like to read my novel check it out above.
My next novel......
I wake up one hour before my alarm clock goes off, it’s the middle of summer and it’s hot enough to sleep with just a sheet, my fan rattles around, but that’s not why I woke up. I look out the window trying to think of something besides the dream that has been repeated in my brain over and over and over again.
“Who is she?” I whisper to myself.
I lay back down and start trying to figure out the question that pesters me everyday. I want to sleep but i don’t want to have to deal with the dream, again. But I fall asleep anyway.
“Help!” A girl yells.
I look around me, i’m in a hospital. Why am I in a hospital? Nurses are running around it’s mayhem everywhere.
“Help!” The girl screams again
I snap my head in the direction of the yell. I see a large yellow door at the end of the hall. There is a small window in the door. I look at the window and see…
“Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.” My alarm clock rattles through the quiet of the morning, interrupting my dream.

This is the beginning of my second NaNoWriMo novel that I will be doing this November. My novel this year is about a girl who has been having the same dream all her life, every night and she doesn't know why. One day she goes to her grandma's house who lives near by and finds a family picture, nothing unusual except that there's another girl in the picture that looks just like her..... she asks her grandma who it is and her grandma says she doesn't know whats wrong with the picture but she must find out more. To know more read my novel at the end of the year.
I am pretty excited for this assignment but at the same time I don't want to do it because it's going to take a lot of work, but once I'm done it's all worth it. This year I am going to make my novel a little shorter than last year but I'm going to try to make it have less errors. Last year this assignment was extremely hard but it was also fun so that made it not as hard to do. This was hard because in order to meet my word count goal I have to write everyday. I like this assignment but by the end of the month you get kind of bored of writing, but then you remember how close you are and it makes it easier.

In the process...
Right now I am in the process of writing my novel, I should only be a little over half done right now but I am only 1,500 words from being done! They way to do this assignment, is to make a daily goal in the beginning that is way more than you actually need to do, then if you do that goal, even if it's only for a week, you will still be way ahead. Then at the end you can relax and just type some here and there. I like this assignment a lot, because not very many people do this, and when you're done you actually get your novel printed. If we didn't get that, I wouldn't like this assignment at all. I think that so far I am doing really good because I am way farther than I need to be at this point in the month. I've already done this one time, last year, so this year I did pretty good on it. This assignment was really difficult, probably one of the hardest things I've ever done, I have a sister in college, and she says that she couldn't even do this. But it's actually really fun, the only problem with writing it in a month is that you wish you could've had longer so you could have made it better. Also, by the end you're kind of sick of writing so your ending ends up kind of bad.
I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So..... I have officially gotten to my word count of 17,000, this means I have one NaNoWriMo. But my actual story is not even close to done, so I still have to write some more. That makes me kind of sad because I can't feel completely relieved until I am actually done with my novel. I think this assignment is really hard, but also really fun because it's we get to actually have a real copy of you novel. If I had to do it again the only thing I would do different would be to make it longer. Like I said before this assignment was really difficult, but even though it's super hard it's really rewarding because you can say that you wrote a novel. A lot of the people maybe have written a really long story but they haven't actually published it or anything. For that reason I thought this assignment was really fun.
Second Excerpt
“Oh sure, sure,” She said. My grandma likes to repeat her words a lot. I was packagin up my books when my grandma said, “Keegan could you grab the box I was looking through from the attic, I seem to have forget it up there.” She said.
“Sure no problem,” I said.
I walked uptairs, brought the ladder down, and clibmed up. I saw the box sitting there so I walked toward it. There was a picture sitting on the floor so I picked it up.
“Grandma do you wa-” I stopped.
At first I had thought it was just a family picture, but then as I looked closer I saw that it was no ordinary family picture, I couldn’t believe it. As thought of disbalief we3re running through my head I heard my grandma talking to me in the background, after I didn’t answer I herard her running, well more like a fast walk but that was the best she could do. Then she came up the ladder as fast as I’ve ever seen her move. I heard here come up behind me.
“What’s wrong keegan?” she said.
I couldn’t respond, I was stunned.
“Keegan!” She said again. I snapped up.
“Grandma, who is this girl in our family picture?” I said as I pointed to a girl standing next to me, it looked almost like there was two of me. Tall for her age but a little shorter than me, dark brown hair but a little longer than mine, dark thick eyelashes, but eyebrows more arched than mine. A spitting image of the girl in my dream.
“Oh honey maybe that’s your friend Jane,” she said.
“No it’s not, Jane has blonde hair!” I said, very confused.
“Oh well then maybe it’s your cousin Jamie,” she said.
“I don’t think so,” I replied..
“Well darling I have no idea what is wrong with that picture.” She answered, but I could hear the lie in her voice.
