This is the object that I 3D printed for my biomimicry unit. I designed a nutcracker based on the shape of a squirrel head. The piece on the left is the top half of the head. The piece on the right is the bottom half. I also took into account the angles and shapes of the squirrel's head. It only took me about a week to complete this design. However, it took me 3 tries to complete the print correctly. The first try I printed the two parts of the head separately and the two parts ended up being different sizes. The second time I printed them together and they were equal size, but I printed them with the wrong part of the head on the bottom so it started to drip and the teeth got messed up. The third time the parts were still a little messed up but I they were good enough because I would say that I did pretty good on this project because even though I had to print 3 times, I was still the first one done printing correctly. If I would do this again, I would be a little more precise with the things I am doing on sketch up to prepare my design for the print because I think that would've eliminated a lot of the problems that I had with my printing.
